Feedback form is now closed.
Do you use technology to dive into your students' math progress? Well then, this is the session for you! Instructional coaches from Virginia Beach's only K-1 school will share with you many techniques to integrate technology in your math instruction as a way to delve into your students' thinking. Instructors will focus on using Flipgrid, Bee-Bot robots, QR codes, and more! You will engage in hands-on exploration of technology resources to use across various grade levels and content areas. Our presentation will help attendees understand how they can "see" student thinking in math learning.
Instructors will discuss how to integrate math with the following:
Flipgrid:
• Record staff members asking math questions for a unit review and then put the videos in a station for students to answer
• Formative assessment tool (computational fluency) where students record math facts and describe their strategy
• Show student examples (patterns, math stories)
• Record station/computational fluency games directions that students can reference
• Record students modeling the station/computational fluency games that students can reference
• Record students modeling the station/computational fluency games that parents can reference
Bee-Bot:
• Using Bee-Bot to review various concepts
• Show examples of teacher-made games
• Explain how to code Bee-Bot
QR Codes:
• Record students modeling the station/computational fluency games that parents can reference
• Add videos to math newsletters, parent workshop fliers/handouts
• QR word problems for a “math walkabout”
Spotlight on Tech at the Diamond: If time allows, we will share other technology that we use at Diamond Springs Elementary School.
